Like most major financial institutions, our client operates a cluster of downtown offices and its executive team is spread throughout these branches, as well as across the country. This central lounge offers higher-ups a luxe spot to meet, kick back or touch down when travelling for business.

First class all the way, the space combines custom furnishings (for instance, the high-top tables) with modern icons like Eero Saarinen’s Womb chair. Designed, at the request of Florence Knoll, to feel like a pile of pillows, these chairs are comfortable and fun, yet also offer the classic appeal you’d expect to find in the financial world’s interiors.

Other iconic pieces also feature prominently, including Saarinen’s low marble tables and Eames chairs, with all the upholstered chairs in the same cheerful red. Even the lighting – clusters of jaunty pendants dangling from red cords – features a pop of the signature colour. The finishing touch is a variety of paintings, pulled from the client’s incredible art collection. We hand-picked pieces featuring tones that complement the red furnishings and blue, green and charcoal walls.
